Our Layers

Hi everyone and welcome to week four of the big walnut Print Service newsletter. This week, we are going to talk about the importance of using Photoshop in creating and designing a print.

We use a program called Adobe Photoshop to create each print. This is program plays a big role in setting us apart from other generic printing businesses. We are able to take your recommendations and ideas for your own prints as a customer, and from scratch, make them into real feasible files on the computer.

Commonly, printing companies will rely on the customers to provide a finished draft of their own print so they can do the last step of only printing the actual paper form for the order. We found that the innovation of letting our kids here at the school do the designing aspect of the order makes it easier for the customers through the procedure. Our way of printing merely requires a collection of ideas from the customer, so that our student workers in the print shop can interpret and create it for them.

Being that our business is almost entirely student operated, making prints on photoshop gives these kids an opportunity to learn photoshop as a program.

Photoshop as a program, is a very important aspect of our business. From scratch, Photoshop becomes a plain canvas for ideas and creations oriented to each order. This artwork, if you will, can take shape and eventually be brought to life through the final print.

We, as a business, take pride in our ability to work one on one with clients and meeting their every need throughout the order process. When a print is in the creation process, one member of our designing team will be assigned to will work one on one with the customer, emailing back and forth, revising and confirming idea in the prints, and being sure to each include, tweak, add any small details the customer requires.

The final printing process will not occur until we get clear confirmation from the client the print is ready and has been created to their complete satisfaction. These processes are key to the quality of the pint on photoshop, and most importantly, the satisfaction of the customer when the print is delivered.
